Himachal Government issues a LoI for Rs.97.52 crs; Jain Irrigation to provide integrated irrigation solution to farmers
Pioneers of integrated Irrigation solution and World leader in Micro Irrigation, Jain Irrigation has been issued a Letter of Intent (LoI) for project by Himachal Pradesh government involving an outlay of approximately Rs.100 crs.
Highlights of the multi-disciplinary project:
Project located in Tehsil Naduan, District Hamirpur at Elevation of 500 mtrs above mean sea level
Project Value of Rs.97.52 crs
One of its kind project with water saving potential of up to 50%
More than 30,000 farmers from 11,900 acres command area to get assured irrigation
14 Panchayats of Hamirpur District, Himachal Pradesh will benefit from the project
The project is a unique concept of Integrated Micro Irrigation System in hilly terrain and will be a one of its kind project in the World, improving water use efficiency in canal command areas through conduit distribution and on farm management through Micro Irrigation Systems, using pressurized HDPE piping network to irrigate command area of 11,900 acres.
With the technical experience and knowledge of R&D and Design Department, the Turnkey Project Team of Jain Irrigation shall design the MI Project which is estimated to require about 550 KM of piping network and upto 10,000 HP to operate 25 to 30 pumps, provide, install, test the irrigation system and operate as well as maintain the project for 5 years to ensure that the project benefits and technological interventions are fully imbibed. The completion time for project is 24 months from the date of the award of contract.
This project would bring complete transformation in the lives of Himachal farmers and agricultural economy of the state and would be torch bearer to bring similar reforms in the irrigation methodologies of many other canal command areas in mountainous areas.
This project follows earlier successful completion of Bahl Valley Project by the company in Himachal Pradesh.
